Another exciting evening at last night’s Masters County road race in Crossabeg.
The women ran first in the 4k with a great result of Catherine Ronan picking up the medal in the O50 category.
Strong running also from Beth O’Connor, Sonya Byrne, Linda Molloy, Maria Ronan, Geraldine Purcell, Karina Somers and Aine Cullen. Special mention to Maria and Geraldine in their 1st county race, well done.
The men had 1 lap of the 6k course (with a few hills thrown in here and there!) and great excitement to see John McGrath and Alan O’Connor coming home together on the final stretch. John claimed 3rd place and Alan 4th, with Alan also picking up a medal as 1st O40. Pat O’Callaghan also claimed 1st O50.
And then the men’s team picked up silver, with John, Alan, Paul Doran and Brendan Lyng. The other men running on the night included Ted Flannelly, Liam Murphy, Lala Murphy, Mick O’Gorman, Martin Kehoe and Emmett Malone. Well done.
Thanks to St Killians for a very well organized event and the refreshments.
