The Striders Juveniles fielded a very impressive six teams, at the Leinster Cross Country Relay event, at Gowran. The BU14’s had two teams in action and the race provided real excitement. With each athlete covering a testing 500m loop, Tomasso Hickey was on the last leg for his team, that also included Sean Lennon, Ronan Shannon and Eoin Hannan, and secured a Leinster bronze, with a powerful run. Our second team, in this race, were all a year out of age and still managed a fantastic 5th place finish, thanks to great performances from Sam Myers, Charlie Alfred, Olan Delaney and Keelan Ryan. There were an even dozen teams competing in the GU16 event and the Striders squad, Kelly Corbett, Ciara Murphy, Isabel Bawden, Hazel Hickey and Aisling Ryan all performed really well, in a hotly contested age group. The Striders Juveniles saved the best until last, in the BU16 event, with three teams, finishing an amazing first, third and fifth. The coaches had a real headache making up teams, with all boys impressing in recent training. Congratulations to our latest Leinster champions Myles Hewlett, Aidan Shannon, Darragh Flannelly and Ben Wall and our third and fifth place teams Rob Wall, Cosmo Hewlett, Oisin MacEochaidh, Owen Lennon, Finn Kelly, Aidan Kehoe, Ben Myers and Eoin Shannon.
