Leinster U14 – U19 Track & Field Championships, Carlow, 17th 18th & 24th July

Scorching hot weekend at Leinster Track & field.
Our boys done us proud. On Saturday it was all 1500m. Brilliant running all round.
Sean Lennon 2nd u16. Race of the day . Timed his finish to perfection. Moved into 2nd spot with 10 m to go. Master tactician
Myles Hewlett 3rd u17 1500 3rd u17 800m Hes’s getting better as the season goes on . Knocking lumps out of his PB’s. What odd’s for national medals.
Will Park first track season . 5th u17 1500m 5th u17 800m
He has landed into the toughest age group of all and is mixing with the best. Watch this man go next season.
Darragh Flannelly 4th u18 1500m 6th u18 800m Amazing he made the line at all. Literally only back from injury in the last 2 weeks.
Aidan Shannon 5th u18 1500m . Aidan getting in some speed work after his great run last week in 3000m. Watch out for Aidan in Nationals. Could be a big surprise package.
Adam O’Connor u 19 1500m 8th How he even ran today after his amazing run in Senior 10km night before . Flying for 3/4 of race then 10km came calling.
Owen Lennon 400m 4th Great performance by Owen in his first race of the season
Luca O’Connor u16 1500m Ran really well in his debut race of the season. Right up there with the leaders till last lap . Again another runner coming back from Injury
Max Murphy u14 1500m Max pulled up with a hip injury half way through the race. Really unfortunate as he was flying in. the lead group. Speedy recovery Max . You will be back in no time
Shout out for Sean Lennon who ran in Leinsters yesterday u16 800m. Sean qualified easily out of his heat in the morning. He ran a great final in the afternoon coming 4th in a brand new PB of 2.10 This comes after Sean’s great 2nd place last week in the 1500m in another PB of 4.25
