Well done to the under age United Striders squad, who won an unprecedented five-in-a-row in the Wexford Winter League, in great style on Sunday, at Enniscorthy. Eleven athletes won the much sought after Star Awards, for winning all three rounds, in their age group, including Striders Darragh Flannelly, Erinn Shannon and Aaron Browne.
A big well done to the Striders for performing so well at this competition, which is one of the biggest prizes in Wexford athletics. Over the three rounds, we had in excess of seventy athletes represent our club. For our younger athletes, we hope they enjoyed the whole experience of being part of the team, on race day. Finally, a big thanks to Rebecca, Alannah, Grainne and Joanne (too old to race, but it seems like only yesterday when they were tiny tots themselves!!), who recently completed their AAI coaching certification and helped out during the league with the younger athletes, on race days with their warm up.
