National Combined Events Championships, 26-May-2018, Santry

Striders legend, Gavin Kelly, proved yet again what an accomplished all round athlete he is, by taking second place at the National Masters Multi Event Championship. Previously Gavin has won national and provincial medals in sprinting and jumping events. Therefore with plenty of practice at the throwing events and some long training runs with son, Finn, in preparation, hopes were high of a good performance. Excelling at the Long Jump, 100m and 1,500m, Gavin successfully navigated the tricky Shot Put event, to exceed expectations and win silver.
