Wexford Juvenile Track & Field – Day 2, Enniscorthy, 27-May-2018

The USAC Juveniles had another very successful outing at day 2 of the Wexford Track & Field Championships. With over sixty athletes in action, there were so many great performances to be proud of. Some standout achievements include, in the Under 9 category, Fionn McEochaidh’s Javelin winning throw and TJ Murphy’s silver in his 60m sprint. Myles Hewlett won his 800m event in commanding style, leading home Striders athletes in the first seven places, in the Under 14 category. Also at the 800m distance, Louise Doyle, Aisling Power, Aaron Browne and Aedan Rogers, all had stylish victories, on a day where the Striders dominated the middle distances. The older aged athletes also had significant success in the sprint relay events, winning girls, boys and mixed events. The Striders also picked up some medals in the jump events, with the pick of these being Louise Doyle and Clodagh Foran in the High Jump and the Patrick Doyle / Conor Murphy one-two in the Long Jump. There were many other medal winning performances on the day, so well done to all our under age athletes who competed and congratulations to our latest batch of county champions.
