Congratulations to Joe Lillis, our new Wexford Half Marathon Champion. Joe won the title in Oylegate, last weekend, in a great time of 77 minutes. The USAC mens team backed him up in superb fashion, with all Striders athletes finishing in the top ten to win the team title in some style. The Striders also had Brendan Lyng, finishing in 6th place, John McGrath 7th, Sean Murphy 9th and Paul Doran in 10th position. Well done to all. Great running and another title comes back Barrowside.
Competing in the 10km event, also last weekend at Oylegate were Alan O’Connor, finishing in a great 2nd position, John Kent in 9th and club newcomer Fabian Flood finishing in a very creditable 13th place, in an event that had in excess of 100 entrants. This brings the curtain down on a very successful road championship season for the club. Cross Country season is now upon us with County Novice and Senior events taking place on the 7th and 14th of October respectively.
