Leinster Cross Country Juvenile Championships, Gowran, 26-Oct-2019

Many congratulations to all our juvenile athletes who competed in the even Leinster cross country championships in Gowran today.
Maitiu Wall got the Striders off to a great start with another great run at provincial level, following his individual medal last year. Heather Costello and Ava Kehoe were both representing the Striders and Wexford, and did really well. Also at U12, Max Murphy, Eanna Grennan and Cormac Delaney ran very well, in the sloppy conditions. Sean Lennon continues his remarkable improvement and ran a career best 7th place finish, to earn an individual medal. Followed home by Ronan Shannon, Tomasso Hickey and Olan Delaney, the boys finished a great 6th place, in the U14 club event. The U16 girls Isabel Bawden, Aoife Lyng and Aisling Ryan all did really well and helped Weford field a team to finish in 7th place.
Myles Hewlett was first Strider home in the boys u16 event, in 3rd place. Followed home by Aidan Shannon, Ben Wall, Eoin Shannon, Robert Wall, Will Park, Owen Lennon and Darragh Flannelly, these lads won their 4th Leinster club title in a row and for good measure filled all six places to earn Wexford a gold, in the county event.
Erinn Shannon and Rebecca Bawden represented the Striders in the girls U18 event. Adam O’Connor and Ryan Kielthy lined up in the boys equivalent. All our U18’s did really well and are great role models for all the younger athletes. Well done to all who performed so well today at Gowran.
