Wexford Intermediate Cross Country Championships, Lingstown, 08-Dec-2019

The Striders senior athletes finished the year on a real high, winning both team and individual medals at the Wexford Intermediate Cross Country championships, at Lingstown, Kilmore. The womens team stole the limelight with a fantastic gold medal winning team performance and the mens team weren’t too shabby either, winning a team silver. Held at the Lingstown Point to Point course, conditions were dry but the wind was relentless.

Over 4km, Nicola Murphy and Sonya Byrne were in great form, winning individual medals, finishing second and third xford Intermediate Cross Country championships, at Lingstown, Kilmore. The womens team stole the limelight with a fantastic gold medal wrespectively. Strong performances from Catherine Ronan, Sandra Young, Aoife O’Hanrahan and Aine Cullen ensured a Striders gold team medal.

Pat O’Callaghan led home the mens team in the 8km, a man who thrives in these conditions, followed by newcomer Ger Wallace, John Kent, Emmett Malone and Martin Kehoe. Well done all. A great way to end another successful year.
